Futureheads is proud to partner with Beder, a Mental Health and Suicide Prevention Charity
Who is Beder?
Beder is a charity taking a unique approach to softly raising awareness around mental health and suicide prevention through exciting events and initiatives.
Beder has partnered with Shout, a leading mental health charity, and Samaritans, an established and highly respected charity, working across UK and Ireland focused on reducing suicide.
The aims of these partnerships are to harness the specialist knowledge of Shout 85258 and The Samaritans, as well as promote and further both charities incredible work in order to conquer the stigma and underestimation of these incredibly important issues.
In 2019 alone, Shout 85358 has had 900,000 conversations with people who are anxious, depressed, overwhelmed, suicidal or stressed. With more than 2,500 volunteers in the UK and New Zealand, the service is available 24/7 for anyone who needs to start a conversation.
Every six seconds Samaritans respond to a call for help. Samaritans are there for anyone who is struggling to cope, who needs someone to listen to them confidentially and without judgment. Last year, Samaritans volunteers spent over one million hours answering calls for help by phone, email, SMS, letter, face-to-face at one of their local branches.
About Our Partnership
Futureheads is a people-first business. Meaning we put our people, clients and customers before everything. We listen, we learn, and we adapt to help improve the recruitment landscape and make it a fairer, clearer and more empathetic sector for all.
We share an ethos to Beder whose vision is to challenge the stigma surrounding mental health and suicide prevention, stimulate a dialogue to softly raise awareness and provide a platform for us all to play our part in normalising the conversation around these important societal issues.
We aim to lead the way collaboratively, build meaningful and authentic relationships, whilst creating greater accessibility to information and opportunities to promote self-care and manage our mental health as well as support those around us.
Our fundraising will support the millions of calls and texts made to Shout 85258 and The Samaritans to reach people through different communication channels, such as Online Chat, helping reach more young people and enabling them to make sure there is always someone there for anyone who needs Samaritans – now and in the future.
Toby Thwaites, Associate Director at Futureheads, comments: “We are very proud to announce our partnership with Beder to help raise awareness and open the conversation around mental health and suicide. Over the next twelve months, I’m looking forward to seeing our teams support this through direct donations, creative fundraising ideas, and involvement in the fantastic array of events Beder has organised. Our goal is to bring people together and be able to share meaningful, impactful information with all of those we work with”
Razzak Mirjan, Founder of Beder, also comments
“We are really grateful for Futureheads’ support and it is a pleasure to welcome them into the Beder community as we each look to play our part in raising awareness around these issues. I always believe we are stronger together, rather than alone, and I know this partnership will have a meaningful impact in raising awareness and making a difference.”
