You cannot conquer the world from behind your desk, unless you’re playing a video game, but that’s beside the point. As I was saying… you cannot conquer the world by sitting in a chair at your office - generating new ideas, inspiration or learning about new tools often requires meeting people. What better place to learn more than at events? Unless you plan on going back to university, that is!
Every professional needs to keep pace with the hottest trends in their field. Whether these new trends can help you at work right now or not, if you don’t know them then you won’t know their applications or implications.
I’ve compiled a calendar of digital marketing events and conferences across the UK covering all areas from SEO to e-Commerce. So, this list should make it easier for you to find out about events that fit your needs the most.
Bear in mind that some of these events have not confirmed their dates for 2017 yet and I’ll add more events as the days go on.

That’s a lot of choice, isn’t it? I won’t be attending all of them but will keep an eye out for any interesting developments. The events I have attended in the past and plan on attending this year are mentioned below.
Social Media Week
When: 12 September 2017
If social media marketing is your thing, then this week needs to be on your radar.
A series of events held during one week and operated by Crowdcentric.
Social Media Week is a conference that curates and shares the best ideas, innovations and insights into how social media and technology are changing business, society and culture around the world.
During that week, there will be events and conferences on six continents, including Europe, North America, South America, Africa, Australia and Asia.
The 2016 events were truly inspirational that almost broke my brain with the sheer volume of new information, but it’s a week not to be missed.

Formerly known as The Digital Marketing Show, this will be the 5th event. Run by Amplified Business Content, this event has become bigger and better each year. This year an estimated 10,000 marketers will be attending, and over 120 speakers will be presenting on trends, best practices and strategies.
If you are a member of the Institute of Direct and Digital Marketing, then guess what? Attending the sessions contribute towards your continuing professional development (CPD) score.
