Futureheads ON partnered with Equals, a FinTech organisation focused within the FX market. They were on a journey to launch several new products and needed to make 20+ hires across Design, Product, Engineering and Marketing.
On the back of our previous success, the Chief Product Officer got in touch with us after another onsite proposition had not gone to plan. We knew the team well, having placed multiple permanent and contract hires across their technology and product functions.
As part of their ambitious growth plans, Equals had recently acquired CityForex and CardOne Banking, and needed to build out a central recruitment function.
Our goals were to:
- Help Equals stand out in a competitive market
- Manage third-party technology partners
- Centralise the recruitment function across three businesses
- Educate multiple hiring managers on interview training and hiring process
We placed two on-site Talent Partners with support from an Account Director setting up initial meetings with all line managers. These sessions highlighted that the business could benefit from changes to their recruitment process. We reviewed the interview process, removing unnecessary steps and highlighting how to assess the right profile.
The Account Director ran workshops on interview style and technique, to help hiring managers better assess candidates based on company values and culture including unconscious bias training. We also overhauled their onboarding process to improve the candidate experience.
Equals were also keen to address the gender imbalance that is often prevalent in financial and tech businesses. We arranged a lunch with all the women in the business to have an informal discussion about what they enjoyed about working there – and what they felt could be improved for women working there. We then collated this insight and presented a number of actions to the senior team.
- 25 hires across perm and contract within Software Engineering, UX, Design, Product and Marketing.
