Lead UX Designer
- Contract type:Permanent
- Salary/Rate:circa £80,000
- Location:London, GB
We have partnered with a professional services platform, that matches buyers to suitable service providers. A buyer will describe the service they are looking for, and this platform will match them to local/suitable businesses or specialists who can provide that product/service. They are privately funded and owned, and are operating at an extremely successful level. They have experienced rapid growth in recent years, expanding into the Americas, Europe and Africa, and are the most prolific business in their field. They are currently at 35 heads and counting.
They are looking for a Principal UX Designer to join them at this time of growth. This person will be responsible for line managing an existing Product Designer, as well as future UX & Product hires within the company, and will also play a part in developing the UX strategy for the business moving forward. The company website is being rebranded in several weeks’ time, as well as plans for a mobile application build, so there is a real opportunity for this person to impact the functionality and future of the company and it’s service offering. In addition, hands-on UX work is still present, and this person will be responsible for carrying out Senior UX Research & Design techniques, which will then be visualised with the assistance of the Product Designer and/or this person’s UI skills, if they have any.
The business is looking to create two Project squads. One will focus on creating a new offering to their customers, and the other will focus on the seller’s experience through the platform and how to improve it. Therefore, knowledge of working in a squad environment or within an Agile squad would be advantageous.
There is a really great opportunity here to join a growing, well-backed scale-up, at a senior UX level with management responsibilities. This role, as described above, will also grow to manage more people and implement the UX Strategy of the business, reporting directly into the Product Director.
