<p>I&rsquo;m working with a London-based service design and digital product development agency with over 15 years of experience in creating great digital services in both the public and private sectors to hire a couple of designers to the team.<br><br>They create digital products and services that solve complex problems and positively impact people&rsquo;s lives. Their multidisciplinary teams deliver end-to-end digital solutions through agile, user-centered approaches, integrated service design and development, open-source technologies, and cross-team collaboration.<br><br>Recent projects include using an agile MVP approach to transform public sexual health services in the UK, and hosting and infrastructure delivery of a new digital platform for world-class leading V&amp;A.<br><br>Among other things, you will be facilitating workshops, conducting research, translating findings, leading co-design workshops, and prototyping - working as part of a multidisciplinary team to turn designs into digital products that make a meaningful impact in the world.<br><br><strong>The Role:</strong><br>We are looking for designers who can comfortably work across multiple design disciplines, but who have deeper knowledge speciﬁcally in at least one of our core areas.<br><br><strong>Core design disciplines must include:</strong><br>Service Design<br>Product Design<br>Design Research<br><br>You&rsquo;ll be comfortable working autonomously, taking the lead on projects and working closely with both the team and the clients to deliver together. They don&rsquo;t have line managers, but you&rsquo;ll be supported by both directors and the design lead, as well as the wider team to help ensure projects are delivered successfully.<br><br>They&rsquo;re also looking for someone who can mentor and coach other designers on the team, and bring your wealth of experience to the role. By working closely with you in a collaborative way, they will learn new skills and knowledge and grow as designers themselves. You will add to our ways of working and help shape and grow our design practice.<br><br><br><strong>Design skills:</strong><br>&bull; &nbsp; &nbsp;Facilitation and consensus building - planning, running, and facilitating meaningful and valuable workshops and collaborative working sessions to enable the team to deliver smarter and faster<br>&bull; &nbsp; &nbsp;Planning and carrying out user research - ensure that research delivers the right value to the project, the right people are included in research, pulling out relevant insight, and including the whole team<br>&bull; &nbsp; &nbsp;Storytelling - using key information from research to help tell a compelling story about the work, keeping the client and senior stakeholders onboard with the journey you and The team are taking<br>&bull; &nbsp; &nbsp;Prototyping and wireframing &ndash; taking insight and turning them into tangible design assets to visually communicate the direction of work, using design systems when needed and if required as part of the project producing high-ﬁdelity design work<br>&bull; &nbsp; &nbsp;Explore how work ﬁts into bigger eco systems-able to zoom out from the detail to understand and articulate<br>&bull; &nbsp; &nbsp;Clearly how the product ﬁts into a bigger picture, whether a service or ecosystem, and support the team and the client to lead the work in that direction<br>&bull; &nbsp; &nbsp;Holding and advocating for multiple perspectives &ndash; you can understand and articulate user needs, business needs, and technical restraints, and advocate for them during the design of products, processes, and services<br>&bull; &nbsp; &nbsp;Articulate complexity and impact of decisions &ndash; you are able to work in highly complex environments, helping the team and the client to articulate the complexity<br>&bull; &nbsp; &nbsp;Communicate visually - you&rsquo;re able to ﬁnd ways to communicate complex information, decisions, and direction in a visual way when needed<br>&bull; &nbsp; &nbsp;Respectfully challenge, reframe, and refocus work when needed - you&rsquo;re able to ask questions and explore direction in a respectful and kind way that helps others to understand your perspective.<br><br><br><strong>Competencies and behaviours:</strong><br>&bull; &nbsp; &nbsp;Communication, both written and verbally<br>&bull; &nbsp; &nbsp;Listening<br>&bull; &nbsp; &nbsp;Creative problem solving<br>&bull; &nbsp; &nbsp;Adaptability<br>&bull; &nbsp; &nbsp;Curious and questioning<br>&bull; &nbsp; &nbsp;Empathy and humility<br>&bull; &nbsp; &nbsp;Open and transparent<br>&bull; &nbsp; &nbsp;Build healthy relationships<br>&bull; &nbsp; &nbsp;Learning by doing<br>&bull; &nbsp; &nbsp;Continuous improvement<br>&bull; &nbsp; &nbsp;Care and attention</p>
