Head of Digital Innovation

Our client is a leading media business that own some of the best-known brands in the business. After a re-evaluation of their digital proposition, the business is growing its digital teams with the aim of increasing their offering, reach and revenue from digital propositions, while providing the same world-class content they are best known for.

The positions sit across their Central Digital Team that own the strategy for Digital across the group. A key position they are looking to hire is a Head of Digital Innovation which will play a key role in shaping what the future will look like for the company. This is a great opportunity where you will be able to hire your own Product Squad and own the innovation roadmap for the business, taking ideas from ideation and developing proofs of concept.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Developing a mentality in the wider business to continually focus on innovation
  • Running ideation sessions across the business, ensuring that ideas are gathered from all parts of the business
  • Building and developing your own squad to challenge the status quo to create more disruptive thinking whilst not being afraid to fail
  • Bring cutting edge digital innovation to the business and act as the eyes and ears of the business externally
  • Develop a structured process to ensure ideas can be rolled out across the business and territories it operates in
  • Work closely with all parts of the business to align goals between the teams
  • Work closely with the Insights Team to monitor user behaviour and run user testing

The ideal candidate will be/have:

  • Someone with a background and evidence of creating new products, proof of concept testing and building MVP’s
  • Can equally have a background in a start-up environment or an ‘innovation hub’ of a larger organisation
  • Previous experience recruiting, leading and inspiring a team
  • Can demonstrate when they have had to influence stakeholders and drive change
  • Someone able to work with senior stakeholders and pull different teams together
  • Interest and passion for the industry and what the future holds in the media/broadcasting space
  • The right candidate will be given autonomy and resources to develop a team, POCs and influence the business to be more forward thinking by educating and influencing them
