Director of UX Research

A Travel, Media & Content company is looking to bring on a Director to head up their UX Research function. The Design team has grown significantly over the past two years, and plans for future expansion are on the horizon, starting with this position as Director of UX Research. While research has been a valued part of the design process to date, our client is looking to take this function to the next level.
Within this role you’ll be responsible for the overarching research strategy, ensuring that that right approaches, tools and relationships are in place across the business. With several important projects upcoming that will impact the direction of the product itself, you’ll be tasked with upskilling UX designers to conduct more tactical research projects, alongside the hands-on UX Researcher that will report to you. You’ll be expected to be get involved in hands on research, but this will take the form of explorative, generative research as the business strives to find the right product/market fit to delight its users.
This role will be best suited to people who have come from relatively fast paced, Agile environments, with experience with media, e-commerce or content rich products. We’re certainly willing to consider candidates without the above expertise of course, but you must be able to balance strategy, management and hands on research in a fast-moving business.
