Principal Service Designer
- Contract type
I am working with a global design consultancy who work on innovation, design and optimisation for their clients, and are seeking a Principal Service Designer to help them deliver on products, services and experiences.
Their clients range from tech giants and high street banks, to public services, automotive companies, retailers and beyond. Their outputs are as broad as their client base.
To our client, a Principal Service Designer is someone who leads but is fully hands on, and does so on multiple project teams. This can be on projects that are delivering Service Design programmes of work that are immediately implemented or for others projects thinking at a far more strategic level - there’s a great amount of variety in the work.
So too they’re looking for a well-rounded designer as by the nature of the work you will touch upon elements of UX design, digital design and product design. Service Design is certainly your core remit but they would expect at Principal level someone to be able to turn their hands to other design disciplines when necessary.
You’ll be a prominent client contact from early stages supporting the Practice Director to win business, through to the actual delivery and as such strong stakeholder management skills are a must.
The management side of the role would entail some line management of juniors and seniors, and supporting the Practice Director when it comes to hiring and building out teams.
They are a global company, with offices in London, Dubai, Madrid and Paris and clients all over the world so they are looking for someone who does have a willingness to travel.
This is a great opportunity to work at a high level at a world renowned design consultancy but have the chance to remain hands on across a real variety of work.
