Futureheads are currently hiring for a Head of Engineering/CTO to work on a Digital Transformation project within a Global Energy Brand. This transformation is being facilitated by their new Digital Hub, which is being set up to change how the business perceives technology. The Engineering Lead will be one of the key hires within the hub, and you will be responsible for scoping projects, defining the technical stack, and driving the technical vision of this new team.
This is an exciting time for the business, who are transforming the way they work to enable them to create innovative products and processes. This new team will be central to the Digital Transformation, and will help to set the product roadmap. This hub is currently being built, and your key relationships will be with the Agile Coach and Hub Lead. The products will initially be focused on improving internal processes, and you will assist in coming up with technical solutions to do that, as well as assessing which areas of the business could be improved.
The Engineering Lead will define the technical approach from the beginning, including the right technical stack to design innovative architectures and platforms. You will be work closely with the Agile Coach and Hub Lead to set the product roadmap, with the specific responsibility of making sure the technical agenda closely fits the business needs.
An important element of this role will be hiring, managing and nurturing a team, and advocating agile engineering principles. It is important that you can remain close to the technology, and be able to get stuck in with the architecture where needed. As you will have regularly contact with the business stakeholders, you must be comfortable presenting the business cases for your ideas.
For this role, you should have experience of the following:
- Leading/managing high performing product teams
- 10-15+ years of industry experience
- Experience in building cloud platforms, particularly using AWS, Azure, RackSpace IaaS or OpenStack.
- Extensive system and network administration experience on Windows Server and Linux operating systems
- Experience in scripting in either Python, PowerShell or Bourne shell.
