I am working with a well-known Digital Agency based in Central London, looking to expand their UX team. This agency has had a major influence in the media sector working with globally recognised brands, especially in the VoD space. Along with delivering flagship products to major broadcaster including BBC, Channel 4 and more; they are also working with several sports organisations.

In addition to VoD work, they have self-funded and built a CMS which they sell as an SaaS proposition to media organisations, which is unique for an agency. The UX designer role will mainly work with VoD, but there is the opportunity to get involved in iterations of this CMS if you were particularly interested. Therefore, though this is an agency role, there are parallels with in-house work.

As a truly user centred design agency, their office is designed to allow them to work in cross-discipline project teams in a collaborative environment. Walking around the office, I observed the mixed discipline desks really showing their truly collaborative nature. The team is filled with a mix of researchers, designers and technologists all working to scrum methodologies. The creative and design directors will be your point of call, working alongside the UX team made up of a Lead UX, 1 UX designer, 2 insight designers and the UI team composed of a Lead, senior and a midweight designer.

The client likes to have a high level of influence over projects, meaning length of engagement could see projects on-going for 6 months, allowing them to dive deeply into detail. Longer pieces of work with established clients, allow you to spend less time pitching and more time designing. You will be working within project teams following agile processes with Product Owners, Business Analysts, Developers and Visual Designers.

They are looking to hire a UX designer to join their team, creating BAU deliverables and helping to shape existing and new propositions. The business has a long-established relationship with it’s leading media clients and therefore rarely partakes in pitch work – mostly creating new propositions and proof of concepts for clients; which this UX hire will help support.

The client invests heavily into their team, giving peer reviews, quarterly performance check-ins and 12-month reviews to ensure you are always learning, growing and progressing. The role will be supported by the creative and design director, allowing you to continuously upskill and progress within the company.


Core UX understanding & deliverables
Strong client communication and presentation skills
Experience working within an agile product team
Agency experience would be a bonus
Media and/or VoD experience would be beneficial
