Technical Project Manager
Human Research Platform
- Contract type
- 3-6 Months
- Start date
I am working closely with a technology business who operate in qualitative research. The business work with brands and research agencies to get human insight and customer opinions in real-time. Technology is at the heart of what they do, and their platform generates actionable human insights which provide the base for new products and services for their clients.
The business is going through a transition this year and are looking for a Technical Project Manager to join them on an initial 3-6-month basis. The project will involve upgrading the infrastructure from a long-term support release, to the latest Linux distribution.
The Technical Project Manager will be working alongside the Technical Lead, the internal technical team, and an external third party to scope, plan and deliver a significant infrastructure upgrade for their flagship product. This role requires someone with a thorough technical understanding, with previous experience working on infrastructure migrations, and with technical teams. It would be a benefit if you have previously been a developer, but not essential.
The team will also be looking for the Technical Project Manager to have strong supplier management skills, and the ability to communicate with senior stakeholders. In addition, you will be a good team management and team player, leading the developers through this upgrade. You will have full accountability for the successful delivery of code, and the infrastructure of this product.
Your additional responsibilities will include aggregating security questions for their clients, establish the operating model and capabilities required for the continuous improve of the product, and help the transition of IT Management to a new outsourced IT support partner.
As the Technical Project Manager you will need:
- Previous examples of upgrading the infrastructure and delivering complex change for an SME or start-up business.
- Experience working in a Linux environment.
- Experience of closely with Technical Leads, and managing technical teams, as well as knowledge of coding frameworks (ideally PHP).
- Knowledge of how to establish relationships with stakeholders and managing 3rd party suppliers.
- To be a strong leader, and comfortable making big decisions as part of the team.
If you have experience working with DevOps Tool chains, or with Data Protection that would be a bonus, but not necessary.
