Principal Service Designer - Digital Consultancy - London/Paris - £90k-115k plus bonus

We have recently partnered with a digital consultancy that are split between London and Paris. The founders are cut from the Mckinsey cloth so have a not so little black book of contacts coupled with a very strong commercial and business acumen. This along with plenty of VC investment has put them in a good place and this year has been about building their offering both within France and the UK. Now they have established a working process and strong client base they are looking for a Principal Service designer who has strong background in UX.

The business is 20 strong with the majority based in Paris however they understand the design and tech talent are based in the UK and are on recruitment drive to bring in a further 10 heads in 2019. The first of these hires will be a Principal Service Designer who will client facing and responsible for the design direction for the product roadmap. You will be supported and line managed by the Head of Digital who comes from a UX and design background with strong agency and consultancy pedigree.

The consultancy have mainly engaged with French businesses which means you would spend 6 days a month in Paris which would involve staying overnight. They will be building out their UK clientbase however they have a number of high profile French companies that they have offered initial consultancy analysis to evaluate their current position offering key insights on how to improve their market position, this is normally classed as M&A over 4-5 weeks. The next step is to move the client into a portfolio position which results in 6-12 month engagements that could mean full design and build and creation of new brands/companies.

The role itself would be a pivotal in allowing clients to understand the complexity of full ecommerce service design mapping out all the touch points and how they could improve their customer journeys and internal processes. As the business is still growing you would need to be able to take those service maps into design outputs which would involve user journeys, flows and various states of designs. However the plan over the next 12 months is to grow the team with UX and Design capability so you can perform true holistic service design role.

This is an amazing opportunity for someone who wants to go on a journey with a business as they grow and build out their design function.
